Mission Moroto Stories: Day of Destiny

Our dear friend, Mary Katherine LeMay, was scheduled to lead a Christian ladies retreat weekend in early 2020 and the Holy Spirit told her to have our dear friend, Tom Bright, speak on the weekend. Since it was a ladies retreat, if there was one male pastor on the weekend then there had to be two. So MK asked Tom who should join him. He quickly responded, “One guy, Matt Bullen.” So, on February 1st, 2020 Papa Matthew was at a preparatory ladies meeting at Journey Fellowship Church in north San Antonio, Texas preaching about Life in Grace as preparation for the ladies weekend retreat. At lunch, he sat with Tom Bright, and as they were eating. Tom said, “Matt, I really need to talk to you about something. I’ve been praying and praying about this predicament I’m in and the Spirit keeps dropping your family into my spirit. My dear friend, Bill Behrmann, when he was 80 years old and in ill health heard the Lord tell him, ‘Bill! Go build Me an orphanage for the Karamojong bush children of Uganda.’ So, Bill obeyed and went and did just that and he just passed away 3 months ago at age 89 and there is no one to take care of the orphanage and since his death the monthly support has dropped very low and I and our board of directors are afraid we will have to put the children back on the streets.” Papa Matthew smiled and said, “Tom, you know my daughter Rebekah.” He said, “Of course.” Papa Matthew said, “Well, she ran a project very similar to what you are talking about in Zambia, Africa for 2 years. She’s been telling Lisa and me since she was 6-years-old that God was calling her to Africa and we have been praying about what she should do next.” Tom put his face in his hands and began to weep profusely. “I knew God kept putting your family in my spirit.” Papa Matthew quickly texted Rebekah and Mama Lisa, who were at the river walk in San Antonio having lunch, and said, “You guys are not going to believe what I have to tell you when you get here.” And the miracle now known as Mission Moroto was born. Praise be to Jesus! www.missionmoroto.org #missionmorotostories
