Amiyo Charles

Welcome to the family Amiyo Charles!

After preaching in two remote villages on Wednesday, the pastors took us to a nearby hovel of huts. We crawled through layers of makeshift barricades of sticks and thorns in an attempt to keep raiders out.

We filed past multiple fresh graves of those recently killed by violence and/or hunger. Deep inside we found a dying emaciated grandmother and Charles’ little brother Michael taking care of her. Charles had gone to live on the streets and beg for food for the boys and their dying grandmother.

One of the team members at Mission Moroto went searching for Charles and finally found him and brought him home. The pastors will now care for the grandmother in her final days and little Michael and Charles are home safe at Mission Moroto

We are praying for more sponsors for these precious children.

Lomokol Peter

Welcome to the family Lomokol Peter!

Peter and his three siblings were brought to Rebekah at Mission Moroto by Pastor Grace who is a fellow soldier in Christ and dear friend.

Their mother had died when Peter was born and their father had been killed shortly afterward. Peter was in and out of an orphanage for babies that helps malnourished children but are unable to keep them long term so when he would be sent back to his village he would become malnourished again and the cycle would continue. His older siblings had been sent to live in various different locations or on the street.

Since they had nowhere else to go and were severely malnourished, Pastor Grace begged Rebekah to take them in and care for them. Peter has recently become strong enough to start walking as he is receiving the daily nutrition his little body needs. They are all together as a family and safe at home now at Mission Moroto

We are praying for more sponsors for these precious children.

Lokodoh Tabitha Tiamoe

Welcome to the family Lokodoh Tabitha Tiamoe!

Sisters Lokodoh Tabitha Tiamoe and Lomokol Lois Apalodou were brought to Rebekah one Sunday at church by their grandmother. She begged Rebekah to take the girls because their mother had died and the grandmother was unable to feed them.

However, there was no room at Mission Moroto at the time because the two new houses were still under construction. Rebekah started to say she did not have space but seeing the desperation in the grandmother’s eyes, she could not turn them away. Rebekah accepted and their grandmother started weeping and hugging her.

Lois is a very sweet girl and very fond of Pastor Matthew. When he comes to stay at the Mission, she loves to come and sit in his lap. Tabitha is also very sweet and loves to help take care of the younger children at Mission Moroto

Atim Flavia

Welcome to the family Atim Flavia!

Atim came home to live at Mission Moroto after Rebekah had noticed that a few of the girls were saving apart a portion of their dinner every night and giving it to Atim who was a friend of theirs.

One day the girls finally got up enough courage to approach Rebekah and inform her that Atim was orphaned and living on the street. She had been going village to village looking for a place to stay.

Rebekah immediately told the girls that Atim could come and stay with her friends as part of the family at Mission Moroto

Boiyel Abraham

Welcome to the family Boiyel Abraham!

Boiyel is the brother of one of our earlier rescues, Dorothy Lokuge Inowa. Rebekah met their mother when she was visiting their village. Their mother had been horribly beaten by her brother which caused an infection in her broken hip.

Rebekah took her to the hospital and she improved a little but Rebekah was told she has lost complete use of that leg and no longer feed the children.

She begged Rebekah to take Dorothy and she agreed wholeheartedly. Rebekah was not aware that Boiyel was also in need of a home and had been wandering the streets searching for food. Once he finally returned to their grandmother, she brought him to Rebekah and he found his home at Mission Moroto. Rebekah continues to regularly provide any food and supplies she can spare to the mother and the grandmother of these two precious children.

Boiyel is now home at Mission Moroto

We are praying for more sponsors for these precious children.

Kem & Adome

Kem and his brother Adome were found by one of the Mission Moroto team members lying next to their mothers grave barely clinging to life. The only other people in their village was their blind grandmother and one other very ill person. Kem was unable to walk or crawl due to the sores on his hands and feet from jiggers, a very common parasite in Africa. His Brother, Adome, was extremely ill from malaria and was hardly able to breathe.

As soon as Rebekah was made aware of the situation she borrowed a motorcycle and rushed over as soon as she could. Adome was immediately rushed to the hospital for life saving IV treatment and Kem spent several days under Rebekah’s direct care to carefully and painstakingly remove all the jiggers from his body. This is a very painful and long process but after about two weeks of consistent care and God’s grace, both boys were up and playing with the other children.

They are now two of the happiest and loving children at Mission Moroto.

By the Grace of God and obedient hands, these boys can grow and live in a safe and healthy environment.
