Mission Moroto Stories – Raphael Atol

Dear donors and sponsors, I am Raphael Atol and I send you greetings to the United States and may God bless you all. Here is my story since my birth.

I was two days old when the raiders came and killed my father. My mother was in the house breastfeeding me so we survived. When I was two-years-old my eye became infected and my mother couldn’t find medicine for it. I wanted to die. I lost my eye. She took me to the hospital and I became ok.

My mother would go to the mountains and get firewood to sell to support me. One day she ran into the raiders and was killed. When I was 14-years-old I went to boarding school. I started primary 1 and went through primary 7. My mother died when I was in primary 5 so I had no one to support me with the requirements. Then our donors came and I am now in 8.1 at Nadunget Secondary School. I thank God that he directed our donors from USA and help us in Uganda. We are very happy now in Karamoja. I love being one of the choir directors for the Mission Moroto children’s choir.

When I was two days old I lost my father. I never saw his face. I grew up without a father but now God has become my Father and I have entrusted my life to Him. I thank the people of USA AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THEM AMEN!

Love, Raphael Atol
